glacial pothole
ringikujulise avausega, sügava supipaja kujuga õõnsus maapinnas, mis on kulutatud kõrgelt langeva või survelise liustiku sulamisvee poolt liikuma pandud munakate või rahnude poolt, cavity or steep-walled round hole which usually appears in the rocks under the melting glacier. They are created by the whirlpool effect of the meltwater-driven stones (the stones spin around and abrade in the pot). Potholes vary in size from a few tens of cm to several meters in depth and diameter.
