Rahvusvahelise suuruste süsteemi ISQ põhisuurus
suurus, mis tähistab elektrivoolu tihedust jagatuna voolusuunalise pinnaga

ISQ base quantity
scalar quantity equal to the flux of the electric current density through a given directed surface
scalar quantity equal to the quotient of the net quasi-infinitesimal electric charge dQ transferred through a surface during a quasi - infinitesimal time interval and the duration dt of that interval

elektrivool preferred

Usage examples

Elektrivool on kiirus, millega elektrilaeng voolab vooluringis mööda konkreetsest punktist.

Good to know

Elektrivool läbi pinna on võrdne ajaintervalli jooksul läbi selle pinna läbinud elektrilaengu jagatise piiriga selle intervalli kestuse järgi, kui see kestus kipub olema null, ning pinnale jäävate laengukandjate puhul määratletakse elektrivool läbi selle pinna kõvera.

Usage examples

Electric current is the rate at which electric charge flows past a specific point in a circuit.

Good to know

The electric current through a surface is equal to the limit of the quotient of the electric charge transferred through that surface during a time interval by the duration of this interval when this duration tends to zero. For charge carriers confined to a surface, the electric current is defined through a curve of this surface (see the note to term “lineic electric current”).

electrical current flowing through the meter
rate of flow of electric charge past a point or region
flow of charged particles, such as electrons or ions, moving through an electrical conductor or space
SI base quantity

elektrivoolu tugevus preferred

Usage examples

Usage examples

Electric currents create magnetic fields, which are used in motors, generators, inductors, and transformers, and in ordinary conductors, they cause Joule heating, which creates light in incandescent light bulbs, and time-varying currents emit electromagnetic waves, which are used in telecommunications to broadcast information.
